1988 those little cassettes of sugar daddy and the karen & shelle pop clips !!! We was all sat in a little motel room in Cambridge, the coffee was CRAP. We were all boiling up a little kettle trying to get it to work. My mate was playing guitar for Brian. I was about 18, the roadie was John from Derby (he was a fool, he was !!! He fancied Shelle! did you know that Shelle probably you did coz he was a moron!) God it brings back memories. I actually liked the Sugar Daddy song I thought it was ace.
The funniest things: Shelle was smart and had summat about her, you could tell. Karen was very quiet and reserved. Ever so pleasant girls to be around, nice vibes. So quiet and normal. Not like the gothic monsters you grew up to be HAHAHA
Anways that night, John & me were in the van on the way back up north and it broke down in a blizzard and we were stranded for about 15 hours we nearly froze to death. The RAC came out but wouldn't help us, left us there. We seriously nearly died in that white transit van full of all the kit from the gig. We was stranded at a petrol station and the owner and the local police were sat there watching us freezing to death wouldn't help us. Scary that was. I was only a year older than yous and I was freaked by it. We passed out and got hyperthermia.
It was a 3-gig trip. One was gainsborough I was sure of that. And one time Brian had yous girls up on stage doing their thing. Like promoting yous. LOL.
I only did it coz my mate (Pat) was playing guitar for Brian and he'd offered me to come out on the road to see what it was like, get some experience. That I did. Pat went down with cancer in the 90's but I think he's recovered now. I aint seen him for a while though

Yeah it was mad, goin on the road so young with a load of nut cases.
Karen & Shelle were really very normal girls. All I remember about em is they were trying to make the kettle work in my motel room and it was f8d. Shelle was trying to make me coffee. We was all sitting in this stupid motel room (all on the bed. No pun intended, there was nothing in the room except a bed).
They looked alright though, not mingin or owt. They were actually "nice" if you pardon the expression. I didnt' really fancy them but they were both OK.
Next thing, 10 years later 1997 great sound comes out. Liked the music a lot.
Real nice music & all. Groovy sounds.
Dunno WTF the idea of making it a horror movie came in though.
Couldn't Shelle have invented summat more like a ZZTOP boogie, you know like, "We are the girls, we live on the hill, we won't do it but our sista will" instead of "We are battered wives ??"
I dunno. The state of the music world.
